General Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the President and CEO of the Company, the Director of Engineering and Quality Assurance will provide direction on all company matters related to engineering and quality assurance in the US operations. This position requires an extremely analytic oriented person, heavy technical engineering proficiency, knowledge of heat transfer, ASME code, structural design, quality assurance, and value engineering. This position also requires independent judgment, leadership and decision making that affects the company, clients and OEM’s. This executive will be a critical part of the leadership team that will help drive the company’s growth and potential.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 15 years of mechanical engineering experience. A Masters of Mechanical Engineering or PE is preferred.

Hands on engineering with proficient technical skills and extremely strong analytical skills are necessary. Proven experience in providing engineering solutions is essential.

Required technical knowledge and experience in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and structural design. Excellent knowledge of ASME code.

Ability to provide thermal, structural and special requirements solutions for the company products.

Review and dissect specifications that accompany the incoming request for quotations(RFQ’s) and other special requirements from OEMs and end users.

Excellent knowledge and experience with value engineering of current designs.

Heavy interface with all company departments, operations personnel, and Director of Sales and Marketing.

Leadership will include managing, guiding and directing three designers, three applications engineers, three lead quality inspectors, two mechanical engineers and one or two project managers.

Responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy of the engineering department personnel.
- Interpret industry regulatory and environmental compliance to develop practical procedures in order to optimize compliance and business processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness and follow through on commitments.
- Conceptualize, develop and/or implement cost effective designs and quality products. Develop and oversee quality assurance processes and procedures.

Oversight of quality product design to ensure longevity, customer and OEM adoption. Manage project timelines and budgets for appropriate company efficiency and cost containment.

Creation and execution of quality assurance process by providing new and creative tools and methodologies to the company.

Serves as part of the company executive team reporting to the President and CEO. Contributor to the strategic direction for the engineering department.
